friday already? geeeeeesh where did this week go? when i realized what day it was, i thought i better check in and catch up. i did list the 2 albums i made on ebay, well actually, jess started the halloween kit from home here, to see how it would go together (that was a few weeks ago now) so i finished it (mainly the tags, which take the longest) so that is in as well as the cowpoke album. i am working on another school album that i plan on listing on ebay tomorrow , i wanted to see if i could expand the accordion pocket album by one and it worked! on the right you can see that i used eyelets to attach it together. but then i got a little carried away with the tags and embellishments so it is actually quite thick, but, when i was at target this summer, i found the cutest little lunch boxes, they had candy in em so, of course the candy has disappeared and the boxes are waiting sooo, this little book will fit perfectly inside! i just have to run out and get some metal paint and cover the tin. i did burn the paint off the lunch boxes you can see one above the album, and i was going to leave them just like that and attach some paper, but have decided (after looking up the history of lunch boxes!) that paint would be appropriate.
hey, about looking up the history of lunch boxes, does anyone else do this?! when i create something and want to put something special into it, i just have to find out the history of the thing first, it's weird, i know, but i can't be the only kook out there, can i? here is an interesting find about tin can mail, has anyone ever heard of that before? i came across it because my friend dede, made an altered book and on one of the pages was this cool postcard back with tin can mail written on it so , of course, i just had to find out just what that was, because i wanted to use that same type of thing in my stuff, very interesting, i must say! i do the same with all my books, even this little schoolbook!
well, this week i also did some fall clean up in the back yard, i am half way done. steve doesn't like the "corporate shave", as he calls it,i don't either, but it has to be done to ready for the cold weather and to keep the bad bugs out. the grass was so tall, that when i cut it, the under-stalks were brown! it does look weird but it is clean and ready for our long winter of rain and cool weather. i just need to get out and finish it! zoe needs a bath too, and the floor needs cleaning and... i guess i'll go to michaels and look for some metal paint, lol! i hope everyone has a great week end, relax and enjoy our autumn weather, it looks like it's a tad cooler just about everywhere around the us, our " indian summer" may end by sunday, sad to see it go, it's been sunny, warm and breezy. smelling like summer, during the days and in the evenings, cool and smelling like autumn. i love the change of seasons! most certainly in the great northwest! gotta go, -rebecca
