geesh, it's been a while, time flies doesn't it? i am now caught up with my special orders! yeah! and i'm looking forward to starting new spring projects. our weather here has been a trip, we had sun and 80 degrees on saturday and last night it snowed- go figure! yikes, were we surprised! it's now rainy and cold, good weather to scrap! i was able to partake of our local swap meet on saturday and found 2 really great ledger books from the 1800's! the larger one has lots of blank pages- too many for me alone to use and the smaller one was completely filled with business entries, it looks like the owners had a mill. i am offering these pages in large and small bundles in my etsy shop. they are so fun! the person who wrote in the smaller ledger book, which is filled from may to july 1888, actually used it as a scrapbook later, and glued clippings from the newspaper over the first 12 pages of entries, and tucked loose clippings from , it looks like the 1930's, between pages- wonderful history! the larger ledger has sporadic entries, not of business transactions, but alcoholic beverage "syrup" recipes, very funny.
i love this old stuff! they are like treasures to me. i ask myself why? my answer is- i don't know! lol. anyway, i will keep many pages for my journals and such, the rest i must release, i think i have mentioned, our home is a bungalow, very small, that is. i consider myself and especially my family fortunate, i have learned to keep it free of excess stuff, as hard as it has been, i mean now, i think "gee if only we had kept that toy or playhouse or blanket, our grandson would really enjoy it now" but, i transgress... lets face it, if i hadn't learned how to let go, we would be packed with my old treasures! lol.
here you will find a small bundle of these ledger papers, others may be found under "paper curiosites" at
my store front.
here are some natural history and bird tags too, i love these images and they always remind me of spring!
i want to start a journal tonight, just to relax! lol! have a creative day! -rebecca
