this is a special post today, as it is specifically for someone whom i still miss everyday, even though she has lived away from us for many, many years- geesh, how time does fly. when polly moved to the last frontier, my youngest was just 2 or 3 years old and she is now walking in the footsteps of her aunt as a student teacher.
i found this book at half price books and could not resist getting it although the cover is quite worn and somewhat ugly, the name is precious, if only it said alaska instead of new york ho hum i never knew this polly brewster series even existed. meagen named this journal for me:
back to school- the cover
this was suppose to be sent at the beginning of the school year so that you could use it to keep notes, ideas, cards, and special events of this school year, well, it's on it's way now so please fill it up with all those things. have you seen the "smash" books that k and company have put out? ohmygosh, i love, love, love this idea! it's exactly what i have always imagined happens to the journals that everyone gets from me- just full of all those bits and pieces of life that get shoved in a junk drawer or the back of your mind to be sadly forgotten and all jumbled up with everyday living.
1 bottom pocket, 1 tag and a little pocket on the front of the pocket.
i side pocket, 2 tags. i really like these school days papers by october afternoon and this registration card is authentic ephemera from back before computers came into being, that frank found for me, i love it for these school themed projects! hey what happened to his link on my blog?! grrr... fixed!

2 or maybe 3 pockets here- i can't check it because its in the mail, but 2 tags for sure.
1930's bingo card pocket
the tag in this pocket is taken from a 1929 writing lessen booklet for primary grades- fun.
the little picture attached with a clip is from an 1885 album i found at a flea market.
2 pockets and 2 tags from a 1950's flashcard set the the girls, frank and i found at a seattle junk store.
1 pocket and a tag created from a "good merit" card received in the same aforementioned 1885 album.
divider 4 front

3 little coin envelopes for whatever tiny goodies you would like to stash here
so there it is polly, i do hope you will fill it up with your writing and whatnot- PLEASE! sent priority so it should arrive today but, probablly not until tomorrow or maybe the next day. i love you. i miss you every day.
i actually hope you don't stumble upon this post until after your package arrives so it really will be a surprise! ooxx-beck
