Scraps Of Time

wow, the time has by flown once again! we did have a white christmas this year, how fun was that! my sister called from alaska christmas morning and at that moment it started snowing, huge fluffy flakes, it was beautiful.

                 

we celebrated baby owens first christmas on christmas eve, he opened his gifts with gusto, and gave me a wonderful smile when he saw the sock monkey.

                       

i will be finishing his christmas sock today so they can pack it away for next year.

tonight will find us ringing in the new year with the traditional banging of pots and pans. tomorrow, will see us taking down the tree, actually, hopefully, i will be left alone, to store away all the decorations and cart the tree outside. it is another tradition for the girls and steve to head to grandma roses for the new year, and leave the cleaning to me, it is so much easier! although, if jess would like to stay and help, that would be a good thing! then when every thing is done and a fire is burning, they arrive back to a clean, seemingly huge, slightly hollow sounding, home, as if the cleaning fairies came and swept everything away! lol.

i am anxious to start creating again, it seems like forever! jess does have her birthday coming on friday, so not to much creating will actually be going on until the weekend , i'm sure. but when it does start, watch out! here comes the LoVe holiday! wooohoooo! i am hoping that the paper companies have come up with some winners! we'll see.

Merry Christmas!

merry christmas to everyone, i hope that you are all enjoying this holiday season without "stressing out" and going crazy! i am still working on a couple of gifts, as usual, geesh, but they will get finished, and hopefully enjoyed christmas morning! tomorrow is baking day, woohoo! spritz, gingerbread, sugar cookies and candy cane bark, is that what it is called, that is jessie's project and she makes it yummy! some breads and pies and we're set for a sweet christmas week!

i am pulling out my dusty sewing machine and putting a couple of things together, jess said she would work on one gift, that would be a help, it is a sock monkey for owen, he is chewing on everything right now so i think the tail will get a good workout! lol, don't you think everyone needs a sock monkey growing up? 

i must get to joanns fabrics so, i gotta run. 

to let you know, i am taking some time off here, so any orders that come in from today until wednesday the 26th will not be mailed until thursday the 27th. then, back to work as usual, but with a new holiday coming- love, love, love!

"a wink of his eye" chunky christmas mini album

hi all, this is the new album i've listed in my etsy "a wink of his eye..." 

       

        these front papers are layered so as to create

       a large pocket to store photos or perhaps,

        a letter to/from santa? the santa image is on

        the same paper (my minds eye) i used on my

        last album - love that image! the rest of this

        album was created from cosmo crickets

        christmas card-stock "be good" collection.

         

        i will actually , most likely attach the name tag

        to the spine, i just want to show the large pocket.

            pages 1 and 2 have a total of 6 pockets with 4 tags

                  

               these are closeups of the little accordion booklet open 

     there are a total of 4 pockets and 4 tags on these two pages.

   there are 2 pockets, 4 tags, and a tiny mat with a corner photo

   holder in this last layout.

the front of the double-sided tags , the backs are corresponding

cosmo cricket solid colors. but, aged looking. try as i might, i just

wasn't able to get good images of them.

new mini album "old st. nick"

ohmygosh, the snow is gone, it's flooding here! geesh! the streets are like a river, not a joke, the man holes have water squirting up all 4 holes like mini fountains in the streets! the rains came yesterday and have been extreme, even for washington. geesh, i'm thankful we don't live in the valley or on a hillside!

well, here is a new album i am adding to my etsy shop, for you to look at, it was created using  the "festive" christmas collection by my minds eye. It measures  5" X 6", has 4 layouts with tabbed pages,  library pockets, tags, 3 booklets, silk ribbons, and great vintage postcards images of old st. nick.

so there it is, bound with my zutter and tied with a wide silk ribbon.

i will also be adding some new little notebook items i am calling "notables",  made, using various unique collectibles for the covers and a collection of my scrap papers for the pages. i will add photos here as i list them today.
