so here we are, ending the summer. somehow it's always sad to see it go, staying up late, sleeping in, walking outside in the morning with shorts and a tee, swinging and reading on the lawn swing, dipping our toes in the water, smelling the heated pavement, geraniums, roses... ahhh

we always go to the fair at this time of year. it used to be the mad dash to the rides, now it's the leisurely strolls through the 4-h, animal, and booth barns, eating our way around the grounds- walla wallla onion burgers, corn on the cob, scones, nutty ice cream, coffee, and listening to the sounds of country, square dancing, and marching bands, and this year, seeing a northwest children's icon, j.p. patches:

                        

he has been around here since the start of the 60's and it was great fun to see him still making people laugh! he had more people waiting to say hi, getting pictures and signing, then any other entertainer there. it took forever to capture this photo but meg was very insistent, and people always push her forward at times like this, even patches fans, so we were more fortunate than others. it was worth it, i love her smile here!

another summer is over, but we made it to the fair where everything is "still the same" as jess says. after a year of learning and achieving those "a's", new experiences, more responsibility, uncertainty about the higher education system, we can go to the fair and feel that "still the sameness" and take comfort. parting shots:

   

i thought i would share some circus scans i have completed, i'm still organizing and trying to make space around here! never ending... these came from a  1940 easy growth reader "i know a secret". you are welcome to save and use these jpeg illustrations, just click the picture to make it bigger and save it to your computer.

 

  

  

i scanned these at 400dpi, i always have scanned at 600dpi but read that even 300dpi would be a good scan for the postcard size of images i use.

new "camping" album and add-on kit.

hi all! well, we have just gone through a couple of days of wonderful, sunny, warm, weather and now, as usual for our great northwest, we are getting a cleansing summer squall. it's coming down in buckets and it sounds and smells good as i work. although i have many household chores to be done, i will be working/playing at my scrap desk, lol!

here is the latest add-on kit "Our Camping Holiday" and the album that you could create using it in conjunction with the last pocket pages album kit, "autumn brown", that i listed.

well, you know, i love cosmo cricket and this add-on and album is created using their fun "mr. campy" card-stock papers. i love the colors and feel of these papers! here goes, you may peek at my etsy to see a list of goodies included in this kit.

        there are 4 pockets altogether on these pages.

 photos can slip in right behind the cars and trailers trim.

the red polka-dot papers have been discontinued, i have

substituted a cool polka-dot print, "skipping stones" from

this "mr. campy"  cosmo cricket line. i love these papers!

"school days" new mini album pocket pages, kits

hi everybody! i'm back on this rainy day in the northwest, with new pocket pages kits and prototype. before i begin to add the photos, i would like to thank those of you who have contacted me for special orders, and, those of you who have left comments, it's always nice to hear from you and it is much appreciated that you take the time to write!

Also, congratulations polly! so exciting, my little sis has her first classroom, teaching in anchorage this year, tomorrow is her first day! yeah! she's had all of 2 days to prepare, geesh! we're thinking of you!

so here goes, i will show the prototype first:

a little "students" notebook album is tucked in it's own little

there are 2 layered pockets on each of these pages with a

little 2" X 2" mat and photo turn for an extra photo.

okay, here goes with the kits:

 

the kit, i know it looks kinda boring, but this color is a great

background for most any kit and i especially like it for school,

military, camping, circus, little boys, etc... it is a colormate

card-stock called "dark  coffee brown" i call it "autumn brown"

i must say right now, that the tags in these

pictures are not finished. i forgot to take

photos of this naked, when i was putting

this album together, therefore, there is

only one side of the tags here and the

labels are only stuck on with non-permanent

tape. i will try and take photos when i put

my next album together using this album as

a prototype.

look orange!

new journal posted

ohmygosh! is this paper by sassafras lass cute or what? i had to have it, didn't know what to do with it, came up with this, a "day journal" :

i've layered out the sections in this journal

because the paper edgings are just too cute!

the total measurement of this journal is 6" X 6".

there are 6 sections, created with 12 pieces of

double-sided card-stock, holding a total of 40 pages

of lined journaling papers.

between each journaling section, there 2 are pockets

to stash goodies in: tickets, receipts, bills, etc. for

a total of 10 pockets.

so there is a total of 52 pages in this little journal, to

write on, doodle on, keep secrets on and stash goodies

in!

have you noticed? i didn't gunk it up at all, nada, not even a tiny bit of ink anywhere. jess didn't think i would be able to help myself! ha! lol!

new "pastpages" ephemera journal #2

hello, there, the sun is stillblazin' here in the great northwest! yeah! there is nowhere prettier than here in the summertime! 

my work area is looking better, as far getting the mess under control, geesh, finally! i think i'm caught up on all orders, and really, just in time- some new fall/halloween/thanksgiving papers are showing up, funfunfun!

i've  posted another "pastpages" ephemera journal in my etsy shop, created from a 1934 "French For The Young" language book cover and tons of pieces of ephemera!

 

this cover measures 5.75 X 8" and is created out of

a 1934 "French For The Young" language book cover.

two 1930's bingo cards made into a pocket, holding 2 vintage

playing cards.

1/2 of a cabinet photo page taken from a broken, 100 year

old, victorian photo album.

these journal papers are attached with 2 binder rings, so

that you may add paper as needed.

the right has 2 little pockets created from a manila folder

there are 2 sheets of vintage writing papers from the

"hotel viking" oslo-norge, tucked into this old air

mail/par avion envelope.

there is a metal clasp holding these papers, which you may

add onto when needed.

the front and back covers are lined with pages from a vintage

theater play book.
