hi everyone, i have listed my new storybook journal here i am calling it "botanica" . i created the covers from a 1904 school music book, and altered the front with beautiful papers by graphic 45. i just love these papers, they are rich and warm with wonderful graphics! take a look-
the c0ver of "botanica"
the inside cover has a name/date plate.
there are 2 pockets to store goodies in here, with the top pocket having an opening on the lower half for smaller items. each divider page is followed by a vellum page, which is actually a tan color.
this divider has a vellum pocket with a piece of vintage lace attached and a double-sided tag tucked inside. i have used leather and velvet pulls on each of the page dividers.
there are 2 pockets on this half of the divider, one upper, one lower. peeking behind the vellum is this...
1930's bingo card with a beautiful butterfly pocket, attached to the binding with swirl clips.
this is a 1/2 page of a cabinet card page from an 1800's victorian photo album. these cabinet pages are over 1/16 th " thick and are double-sided. i have carefully slipped in 2 little tags on the front side, they each have velvet pulls. i have repaired one of the openings on the back side with 2 little pieces of acid free tape, the papers are very delicate, remember, they are over 100 years old! how cool is that?
this divider has 1 pocket on this side, with a music sheet paper again from graphic 45, with a song called "dragonfly duet", love that!
one pocket on the reverse here, which is sewn with heavy cotton string which has been dyed with walnut ink. you may have little items which you could hang from this string.
this last divider has 3 pockets on the front, with a tag that resembles a piece of notebook paper.
the back has 3 tiny decorated coin envelopes with distressed tags and ink dyed seam bindings. you can see the handmade papers behind the vellum, they have bits of embedded ferns.

so there it is, these are so fun to create and so easy to just keep adding stuff, but alas, i must stop, so there will be room for whoever wishes to call this theirs, to add their goodies! lol.
i hope all is going well, thank you for your comments! so fun to read! well, off to start something new, hmmmmm, let me think.
good night to you all, enjoy your evening! -rebecca
