new wedding journal/planner

 i'm back with this journal since it's almost time for june weddings, geesh, my timing's great -non? but hey, weddings are an all year event so i'm actually "on time" with this one. i will be listing this in my etsy shop in the morning:     it's now listed in my shop. this 5.5" X 8" wedding journal/planner album cover is created from a 1935 story book, and covered with the beautiful  Graphic 45 double-sided "le romantique" paper collection. there is a "trinket cluster" attached to the binding with a vintage seam binding ribbon bow.

the inside cover is covered with Graphic 45 paper and tag. the first divider has 2 bottom pockets.

                              

the backside has 2 bottom pockets (the roses are a cutout pocket). each of the dividers are large, top opening pockets. there are 4 large tags with vintage seam binding ribbon which have wedding "to do" check lists on each, starting from 12 months prior to your wedding day to the big day itself.

                                

this 2nd. divider has 2 side pockets, the top is a rose cutout and the bottom is vintage lace.

                              

the backside here has has 1 bottom pocket of roses.

                              

the 3rd. divider has 2 bottom pocket with one of the large "to do" list tags tucked in.

                              

the backside has a bottom cutout pocket.

                              

the 4th divider has two bottom pockets, the top one created from some matching tags in the "le romantique" collection. with a little double-sided tag tucked in.

                              

the backside has 2 bottom pockets with 2 more tags.

                              

here are the 2 manila envelops which i have folded and created additional pockets on...

                              

these envelopes measure 6" X 9"  and they each have the large top pocket opening,  a 1/2 page pocket, 2 tiny pockets and ...

new fathers day album

so i'm back with this new fathers day album that i will be posting have posted on etsy today.it's been finished but i've been too busy to take the pictures. it's a bit different then my other albums, i used a vintage child's  math book  for the cover, or is it a child's vintage math book? geesh. anyway, here are the photos: SOLD thanks a bunch!

                                  

cover of  "a proper gentleman" created using an early 1900's math book and  the wonderful Graphic 45  papers. i attached a brass locker # tag and some little tags to the spine.

                       

 there are 2 bottom pockets and a large tag tucked in on the first page.

                          

there are 2 side pockets and a tag with some smaller tags attached with a laundry pin on page 2 and a side pocket on page 3. all of the pages are open on top so that you may stash extra goodies between pages.                                          

                       

in this two page layout, there are 2 bottom pockets on each page with 2 large tags slipped in plus a band which holds a smaller tag on page 4 and a little pocket on the bottom of page 5 which holds 2 more even smaller tags.

                       

page 6 has a bottom pocket with a large tag and 2 little tags clipped to the outside and page 7 has a side pocket with a tag slipped behind.

                        

pages 8 and 9 each have a side pocket with a little trinket cluster pinned to page 8 and a tag tucked in the pocket on page 9.

the open album. the measurements are 4.75" X 6-7.8".

i have been updating my "goodies for sale" folder, it takes a lot of time, i need to get on paypal and set up all the shopping carts. i am still thinking of redesigning the whole blog, think, think, think!

birthday celebration at the zoo

we went to the zoo on saturday and had a great day for meagens 22 birthday! jess wasn't able to enjoy it with us because she had to go to her college orientation- why does everything always happen at once? geesh! but we all came back home and had a little cake, which, unfortunately was a disaster- the cake that is- i don't know what happened to it but somehow i goofed up. simple instructions, really couldn't get any easier, but... something went wrong and it turned out weird. it was very moist and flat. it was nearly impossible to frost and decorate so we just did the best we could. then, we forgot to take pictures until i had already cut the cake, which just globbed onto the spatula and made a mess, my gosh, well we had fun anyway, lol! can't believe she is 22!

 

 

     

i will be back with a new fathers day album in a bit...

fairyland storybook journal listed

i have just listed this little fairyland journal in my etsy shop and will be writing descriptions as soon as i return from my daughters house. what can i say? it's mothers day! lol.

when i returned, this little journal was sold and this sweet lady just saved me the hour or so it takes to write descriptions- yeah! lol. but i will do an abbreviated one anyway-

                                                

this was a sweet poem book for kids from 1902. i was creating it for my etsy shop and then received an invite to have some pieces in a gallery doing a book arts exhibit, since i don't keep any altered books at home, i decided i would go ahead and use this one n the gallery so, i added just a few more pages then i normally do. there are still 50 pages to sketch, write, and paint on.

there was a little library pocket and card attached to the inside, so i added a fairy image and fibers to the card and slid it back into the pocket.

                           

some vintage lace. i attach the lace on the pockets so that you can slide a note, photo, card or any paper dodad under it and also attach things to it using pins, clips or whatever.

                           

i always make a postal or correspondence page so you can keep postcards, or letters here along with some stamps stashed in the little front pocket.

                             

                           

i inserted 2 of these fun carte de vista pages from an old 1895 victorian photo album. i inserted a fairy tag and added a pull tab so they can be easily removed.

i always add a 1930's bingo card, i just like em!

                             

                             

                           

these pocket envelopes were created from some very old music sheets, i believe from 1869 or something, very cool, but a bit fragile.
