merry christmas everyone! we had a wonderful christmas holiday with our family, the only thing that didn't go as planned was our annual christmas eve snowshoeing trip, but, we should be able to trek up there this week, looks like snow has arrived.
tonight i am listing this "storybook" travel journal in my etsy shop- is anyone ready for a trip to hawaii, or the bahama's? geesh, i sure am, it has been very cold around these parts and now we start with wind and rain- oh goody. anyway, this journal would be a great way to keep your lists, events, receipts and stamps organized. there are 50+ pages of a combination of lined, linen, velum, sketch and watercolor papers for you to write, draw, paint and glue on with 5 double-side, pocketed and tabbed divider pages to store tickets, receipts, stamps, journal pages, menus, lists and trinkets in.
" 'round the world" with an elastic band/vintage leather button closure
"'round the world" Open
the cover of this journal was created from a 1908 children's book and bound with sturdy metal o-ring binding with a vintage leather button closure, and leather, metal and velvet page tabs.
original title page
divider 1- book plate page for your name and date
each divider page has a full page pocket with a top opening, i have clipped a circle in some of the dividers as seen here, other openings are just along the top edge. The auto on the bottom creates a small pocket.
backside of divider 1
with 2 bottom pockets and a little "auto" pocket on top of the bottom pocket. Each facing page after the dividers is a velum page.
divider 2 the "mail" page
this "mail" divider has 6 pockets- the full page pocket is divided in the center to create 2 smaller pockets, one with a half circle opening on top and the next with a letter slot opening in the center of the page. there is a bottom pocket under the slot pocket and another pocket over the top of that, created with the pen nubs paper. the word "letters" creates a small pocket as well as the transatlantic stamp. there is an attached leather tab.
backside of divider 2
this page has a large bottom pocket with a little pocket with a tag slipped in on the top and a couple of tags hanging from the top of the pocket. each tag has a reverse side with lined paper for journaling. there is an attached leather tab.
divider 3
this is the "train" divider with 3 bottom pockets, the train cutout being the last pocket. there is an attached velvet tab.
backside of divider 3
more tarin images and advertisements create 3 pockets here. there is a vintage metal fare token sewn to one of the pockets.
divider 4 bingo card pockets
i guess i counted this as a divider, it is actually just dividing the sketch papers. there are 2 pockets on this side of this 1930's bingo card and...
a vintage northern pacific railway company envelope folded to create 2 pockets on the reverse side of the bingo card, with a vintage hyde park postcard slipped in. the little train image on top of the bottom pocket creates a tiny pocket. there is an attached metal tab.
a leather/acetate pocket
there are 2 separate pockets and openings here- one on top and one on the side.
the backside of the leather pocket with a metal number circle hanging from an eyelet
front side of divider 5
has a large ship pocket attached to the full page pocket with an attached velvet tab.
backside of divider 5
with 3 coin envelope pockets and 3 double-sided tags slipped inside.
coin pockets with a peek at the tags.
