"winter twitterings"
this 4.25" X 6.5" storybook journal has 60 pages which include a combination of vintage lined writing, velum, sketch, linen, handmade, and watercolor papers. the covers were created from a 1902 book written by pierre loti called pecheur d'islande. the little birds were cut from an 1892 childrens storybook. there is a trinket cluster attached to the o-wire...

divider 1- book plate page for your name and date
each divider page has a full page pocket with a top opening, i have clipped a circle in some of the dividers as seen here, other openings are just along the top edge. there is a metal page turner slipped on this divider page.
backside of divider 1
2 handsewn side pockets with vintage lace attached with pins.
divider 2- the mail page
instead of a full page pocket, this page is divided in two with a half circle cut opening on top and a mail slit in the middle. the leaf and flower bud cutout creates a small pocket to hold stamps or other small essentials. there is a leather tab page turner.
there is 1 bottom pocket attached to this side with a cutout vintage postcard image of some cute "snow birds" over the top of a child's music page from a 1928 songbook. each page in this journal is hand stamped and inked.
divider 3
there are 3 bottom pockets here with the red flower cutout as the third pocket and a double-sided tag slipped in the first pocket , created with a page from a 1920's child's reader.
backside of divider 3
with 2 side pockets and a flower cutout creating a little top pocket. there is a double-sided tag with a vintage postcard image of some more winter birds twittering around a snowy window. Each facing page after the dividers is a vellum page.
divider 4
one bottom pocket with another cutout pocket on top. a metal tab page turner.
backside of divider 4
with 2 side pockets and a clip. remember, each divider page has a top opening to a large page pocket.
carte-de-visite page
this is a carte-de-visite frame from an 1885 victorian photo album which has been embellished with paper lace, stamps and vintage buttons. there is a double-sided tag with a vintage postcard image and velvet pull, slipped into this side of the frame.
backside of the carte-de-visite page
this side is stamped and embellished with paper lace, a page of vintage music, vintage lace and buttons, and a cutout from a vintage book page.
divider 5
large page pocket with a half circle top opening and a vintage bird image cutout which serves as a small pocket. and embellished with a scrap from a vintage music page.
