Hello everyone, it's been a while. First, I would like to say the world and our little part of it has been going through quite a challenging time. It is taking patience and love from all of us to get through it. I feel getting through it with the least amount of noise is best, and showing grace, understanding, love and compassion is the key. Looking back and knowing that we handled everything in a positive, quiet and gentle way will help us rebuild and grow once again. Please stay safe, wear your masks, and treat others well as well as yourself. Be a pioneer as our ancestors were; tough, resourceful willing to do what it takes to keep us all safe and moving forward. We can do it!
Right now, I'm ready to start hunkering down for the fall and winter months; creating and tending to things I've neglected such as family memory albums, making journals and trying to be creative in making them as the scrapbooking industry has collapsed. geesh. It started way before we were hit with Covid 19 and now has taken us back to about 1999 with supplies. Luckily, I am a person who likes to collect things and find my paper stash and embellishments look pretty good. I will be able to bring out some papers from long gone, but fondly remembered companies that you may remember or not, but I hope you will like.
In this new travel journal, C'est Charmant, I am sharing the wonderfully romantic papers from Daisy D. I absolutely loved their papers, it's what inspired me to create all the albums and journals from the start. The vintage style took off with their creative ideas for papers. The laces, buttons, fabrics of old times did it in great style. From romantic to Halloween to Christmas to children's papers from the 1800's through the 1950's style. Kinda worn, with charming images. It was a time before double-sided card-stock took hold when paper was 4 for a dollar. Ahh, those days when you could go into your local scrapbook store and hang out and chat with the clerks for an hour or so and find all the wonderful goodies the paper and embellishing companies were coming out with.
Okay, lets grab a cup and start: this new travel journal has been posted in my Etsy shop here

This journal has 4 dividers which are also full page pockets with top openings, embellished with more pockets to hold all those photos, lists, postcards, stamps, notes, and memorabilia from trips or even from your daily life.

This page has 3 side pockets, on is paper lace. A flower top pocket with a tag with a tea dyed seam binding ribbon pull slipped in, and being held by a tiny paper clip. There are 2 tiny tags hangin from a tiny safety pin which is attached to a vintage button.

Instead of a full page pocket, this page is divided in two with a half circle cut opening on top and a mail slit in the middle. It is embellished with 2 top/side opening pockets- one is a sweet heart cutout and the other an Eiffel Tower postcard cut out with old fashion roses. There are 2 strip pocket also. Divider 3 backside
3 bottom pockets and 2 top pockets. There are 4 tags one with tea dyed seam binding pull, a photo card maybe from a Tim Holtz ancestors collection, and lastly a button card with a perl button still attached from the 1889 scrapbook album. I did back this ephemera with card stock to stabilize it.
1930's BINGO card
There is 1 bottom pocket another photo card tucked in, and 2 top pockets attached with tiny brads and a Tim Holtz Relatives cut out of two little girls.

Thank you for viewing my post, I apologize for taking so long to get this done. Yawn, I'm exhausted, it's the most thinking work I've done in months. I will be posting one other journal that I have completed, it's a Halloween journal. Yes, it's that time of year again. Off I go to start the next post, we'll see how far I get before I need to take a break, geez. -Rebecca
