Hello again, back as promised with this Christmas Journal/Planner, which I have just listed in my Etsy shop here.

This little trinket cluster is attached to the name tag which is tied to the o-wire with vintage seam binding ribbon.

               

                                                     Divider 1

Name/date page. This Journal was created from a Sir Walter Scott book measuring 5" X 7.5" and has 50 hand stamped pages which include a combination of vellum, vintage lined writing,vintage linen, sketch, and water color papers, on which you may journal, sketch, draw, paint, and glue. 

I have created 4 double-side divider pages (which are also full page pockets with top openings) and a vintage bingo card page; Each divider and bingo card page is embellished with pockets, and may have a combination of brads, clips, cut outs to create pockets, seam binding ribbons and tags. Each divider page also has metal, leather or velvet page tab turners.

With 2 side pockets and 2 list tags "Card" & "Gift" Each facing page after the dividers are vellum pages; all pages are hand inked and stamped.

The Correspondence Page. this page is divided in half with top openings to hold postcards, notes, stamps and such. there is an acetate pocket on the top half with 2 doublesided tags tucked inside and on the bottom half a printed postcard pocket with a strip pocket on top and 3 tags slipped in.

There are 2 bottom pockets here with a large "Traditions" List card tucked in.

2 side pockets and a strip pocket divided with a wood button and pinecone charm hold 3 doublesided tags.

2 bottom pockets and 2 side top pockets hold a large doublesided Santa tag and a small shipping tag with a fabric pull. There's a little show of paper lace on the bottom.

phew, back again this time with a manila folder christmas journal. i  have listed this finished journal in my etsy shop here.

there are 3 side pockets with a large pocket on top on page 9 and 3 bottom pockets with a bingo tag tucked in on page 10.

since i have created this journal with premium card stock papers it is safe to place photos in these pockets but any photos placed inside the 3 large flap pockets should be in acid free envelopes or copies that can be replaced.

this type of journal is great fun to make and they come in handy for stashing reminders on the pages and lists in the pockets. when you create travel journals with manila envelopes, you can attach maps directly to the pages as a background and souvenir brochures/postcards to the pages as pockets and then stuff all pockets with reminders and keepsakes of your trip. if you have some spare manila folders around and would like to create one for yourself from the those take a peek at the left hand side bar of this blog under "step by step" and you will find  instructions. the size and binding choices of the folder is up to you and what you have at home for creating.

new christmas "planner/journal"

hi everyone, now that we are deffinately into the christmas season, i hope everyone is having a joyful time. this new planner is late getting "out there" but i hope someone will still be able to use it to keep organized and frazzle free. i have it listed in my etsy shop here.

it's been created from 3 manilla envelopes, measures 6" X 9.5", has 13 decorated pages, 22 various sized pockets and a full december 2013 calendar; plus 3 built in, full sized page pockets.

there is 1 large pocket here printed from a vintage book cover image.

i like to keep these planners clean and simple without a lot of distractions that may get caught on things and torn off. there is room on the spine binder clips to hang a name/date tag or any little treasure that you may want to keep there.

my wish is for someone to use this journal and add all those things that will make this unique to them. each page is hand inked.

there are 2 pockets on page 1 and 2 pocket on page 2; one is a full page pocket with a scoop opening on top and a bottom pocket.

the flap on the left is easy open with the folding clasp but if you have ever used these, you will know repeated openings of these causes the metal to break. to fix them i have just used large paperclips to keep them shut. you could use ribbons and tie them together, or just leave them alone and they will most likely stay shut.

there are 3 bottom pockets on page 3 (one is paper lace) with a large tag tucked in and 2 side pockets on page 4, one is a little die cut tag pocket with a little tag slipped in.

this is a large calender page measuring 6 3/8" X 11.75"  with each day sqaure measuring about 3.5" X 3.5".

3 bottom pockets on page 7.  page 8 has 14 vintage linen papers clipped at the top. you may add or remove these pages by unclasping the clips. each paper is hand stamped and inked.

               

                                         planner pages 9 and 10

page 9 has 5 planner pages with headings such as christmas memories, traditions, favorite foods, favorite mamories, family gift list, extended family gift lists, family drawings, friends, neighbors, teacher, goodie plates, holiday parties etc. you may add to these pages also by unclasping the top clips. on page 10 there are 3 pockets with 3 cards with titles: to do list, dinner, and card list. there is an extra little side pocket on the bottom with a printed vintage postcard image and a tag slipped in.

christmas journal/planner "'tis the season"

another christmas journal ready before december 1! yea! lol. i have searched our local scrapbook stores and found that they have no christmas papers that i can use in my journals, makes me sad. also the little readers are harder and harder to find, i choose books that are discarded or falling apart with broken spines, torn and written/colored pages. well loved and well read. i will keep looking and i do have many papers that i have collected so i will keep creating  journals, i just may not be able to created as many as i'ld like for the holidays. well, enough about my woes, geesh!

here is a new christmas  journal/planner called " 'tis the season" with 50+ pages which include a combination of lined writing, sketch, linen, and watercolor papers, on which you may journal, sketch, draw, paint, and glue.

Each page of this journal is hand inked, stamped and bound between the covers from a 1940 Easy Growth in reading called "i know a secret" - i love that title for christmas. with sturdy o-wire binding and a...

new christmas "planner/journal" keepsake

hi all! here is a very late christmas planner for keeping you organized. i guess it's not too late, if you have a mess of papers with lists, notes ideas and plans, this would be the perfect place to keep them together and in a place where you can find them. 

And consider this- this planner will last through future Christmases so you will remember how this Christmas was celebrated with old and new traditions, decorations, family, friends, gifts, and celebrations. You may add a new calendar for next year and a few more pages so it will be a running reminder of each Christmas.

so with all that said, it's really not too late to get more organized! right? lol!

this is the center of the planner, you can see the binding clasps which are easy to open to add or remove pages. page 5 has a a full 9.75" X 11.75" December 2009 calendar attached, which pulls out (with a red velvet ribbon) over page 6. plus a whole page pocket with a clasped flap. page 6 has 12 removable/refillable pages of 5.5" X 8.5" linen writing papers.

                            

this is a closeup of the calendar, i had to use a paper clip to hold it open because the planner is in a standing position. i have included a little bag of calendar goodies you may attach to the different days

i'm thinking of a seasonal planner for '10, but the way things are going, i'm not sure i will be able to put it all together before the first of the year! geesh!

i'll keep working and try and get our house decorated for the holidays, plus shopping, plus resting and enjoying, in the end it is well worth it, that week between christmas and new years is an especially fun family time when all the relaxing, visiting and playing happens woohoo!
